Unbeatable gift ideas for teachers from Bright SchoolKitz!

Whether you are shopping for the end of the school year or it’s the holiday season, you want to make sure that your teachers get the recognition and appreciation that they deserve. There is no better way to do that than with the right gift. Finding a great teacher’s gift can take time and a lot of effort but can be well worth it. Here are a few ideas to get you started on the right track for gifts to your special teacher.

School Supply Kit

  • School Supply Kits: Teachers are always going above and beyond for their students every year and if that means that they need to fill their classroom with school supplies that they purchase themselves, then they will do that.  Why not help them and send them an elementary school supply pack. Fill up a basket or cute box with all the essential classroom supplies.
  • Tote bags: Tote bags are appropriate for all grade level teachers. They make an amazing gift! If you know teachers, you know that they are always carrying things to and from the school, they always have several bags in hand. Try to find a balance between a tote bag that is big enough, but not too big that it will be too heavy.  Bags that can be easily cleaned or machine washed are also an added benefit.
  • Plants: A healthy growing plant is a favorite teacher gift of ours, but why not expand on that and plant one in a personalized pot. You can include a special message to your teacher from your child and make the gift extra special.
  • Gift cards:  Gift cards to any of their favorite stores or restaurants are always welcomed. While this gift isn’t that unique, it is one that any teacher will appreciate. Almost everyone shops or eats out, so why not give them a gift that will allow them to treat themselves to something from one of their favorite places.
  • Coffee Cups:  All teachers need coffee to function, so they can never have enough coffee mugs whether it’s an open mug or a to-go cup. Look into getting them personalized from your child. There are many different designs out there.
  • Cooler Cozy: What about those after hours? How about a can cooler or a cozy one? This can be a fun gift that a teacher can use all summer long.  Again, this item can be personalized to make it extra special.
                                        • DIY: Any time you and your child can make something from nothing it makes a great gift. These gifts are always more meaningful than anything you can buy.  When you give something that comes from the heart it makes more of an impact.

A few things to keep in mind:

First, be practical and age appropriate. Personalized gifts and school supply kits are always solid gifts to consider. Sometimes getting an item that can double as something else is always a great route to take. For example, coffee mugs are great for coffee but can also double as a pencil and pen holder or paperweight.

Second, try to be creative. This is where making something yourself will come in handy.  And if you’re not artistic that’s ok because you can get creative with gift cards.  Teachers work extremely hard throughout the year getting a nice night out to dinner with their spouse or a good friend is sometimes the best gift you can give. Personalizing any gift always makes that gift just a little more special.

Finally, this is not a competition. Teachers are not grading your child off the gifts that you give them. Sometimes the best gift is the one that costs the least. And if you can, shop local to help our MOM-and-POP stores. You might find exactly what you’re looking for.
